Brightly’s intelligent platform to improve data reliability, enhance maintenance efficiency, and support long-term infrastructure planning for one of Australia’s fastest-growing cities

MELBOURNE - 30 June 2025

Brightly Software, a Siemens company, has been selected by Ipswich City Council as its enterprise asset management (EAM) partner to enhance the management and maintenance of critical infrastructure and natural assets across the city.

Ipswich will implement Brightly’s Asset Management for Government platform, a comprehensive, end-to-end lifecycle management solution designed to help local governments manage assets more efficiently and make smarter long-term investment decisions.

Powered by Siemens’ industry-leading technology, the platform will provide a single, unified view of assets across the city – integrating day-to-day operations with advanced analytics, real-time monitoring, and predictive insights.

By adopting Brightly’s solution, the Council anticipates a range of benefits, including increased staff productivity, optimised maintenance spend, improved data accuracy, streamlined processes and reporting, and faster response times for residents.

Ipswich is one of Australia’s fastest-growing cities, with its population expected to more than double by 2046, driven by affordability, lifestyle appeal, and proximity to Brisbane. In response, Ipswich City Council is investing in technology to support the evolving needs of its community, with strategic asset management central to future-proofing its infrastructure.

A key driver of the partnership was the need to streamline and standardise asset data capture, consolidating physical and financial information into a centralised, reliable asset register. With Brightly’s platform, Council teams will be able to automate field data collection and reporting, manage maintenance workflows, track asset inspections, assign crews, monitor real-time progress, and analyse operational and procurement costs – all in one place.

The platform will also modernise asset maintenance and field service management by replacing spreadsheets and manual scheduling with a mobile-friendly, automated solution – empowering field crews with the tools they need to work efficiently and effectively.

Jim Apostolovski, Senior Sales Executive – Local Government ANZ, said the company was excited to support Ipswich in delivering better outcomes through smarter asset management.

“We are proud to partner with Ipswich City Council to help optimise asset performance and create better experiences for the community,” said Jim. “With more than 200 Public Sector governments across Australia using Brightly solutions, we understand the complexity of managing a diverse range of public assets while planning for long-term growth.”

“Council will be able to consolidate asset data, providing a clear view of asset condition, performance, and cost. This will enable Ipswich Council to extend asset lifespans, reduce long-term operating costs, and make more informed investment decisions, thereby meeting service levels and managing growth with confidence. By integrating Brightly's EAM & SAM solutions, Council will enhance its asset management practices, ensuring sustainable service delivery to the community while balancing cost, risk, and performance.”
