Navigating Accreditation 360: How TheWorxHub Supports Continuous Compliance

3 minutes

The Joint Commission’s Accreditation 360, launched on January 1, 2026, streamlines its hospital and critical access hospital standards by eliminating hundreds of redundant requirements and reorganizing them into a clearer, CMS-aligned structure. Brightly continues to focus on helping organizations interpret these changes and understand how TheWorxHub platform supports and enables teams to preview and adopt the 2026 code set, customize compliance mappings, and centralize documentation through its digital compliance tools.

What’s changing and what isn’t

Accreditation 360 streamlines the standards framework by retiring the EC and LS chapters to make way for the new PE (Physical Environment) standards. However, the underlying work largely remains the same, meaning if you’ve been compliant under the previous model, you’re likely still compliant under the new standards.

The changes are in line with the Joint Commission’s goal of greater transparency and public searchability of standards by reducing redundancy and aligning more closely with CMS Conditions of Participation. As organizations transition to the new standards, they will have an unspecified grace period to update internal policies and documentation to the new structure.

How TheWorxHub supports the transition to Accreditation 360

Brightly has added the Joint Commission 2026 code set into TheWorxHub, giving teams the ability to move between the current and upcoming standards without losing data or disrupting day-to-day operations — making it easy to preview the new PE structure, understand where changes appear, and prepare internal workflows at a manageable pace.

TheWorxHub’s Compliance Standards tools allow users to tailor where standards surface to see the right requirements in the right context, including across assets, work categories, and descriptions. As organizations adopt Accreditation 360, TheWorxHub centralizes compliance information, automatically surfaces associated work, and keeps documentation aligned to provide a predictable, clear path to continuous readiness during the transition.

Building a centralized compliance view

To support organizations beyond simply adopting the new standards, TheWorxHub’s digital compliance capabilities bring all accreditation activity into a single, organized view.

Through the Digital Compliance Binder — part of the Compliance Pro add-on — teams can link standards to assets, work history, and documentation that demonstrates readiness and creates a clear picture of where they stand at any moment.

The binder also highlights missing attachments, overdue tasks, and upcoming requirements, helping teams identify gaps early and maintain a steady compliance cadence throughout the year. This centralizing feature is particularly useful for organizations managing multiple sites or high volumes of documentation as it eliminates the need for paper binders and manual checks — providing a proactive, efficient way for them to stay aligned with Accreditation 360.

Greater control over compliance data

Through TheWorxHub’s Compliance Standards setting, teams can edit descriptions, adjust where each standard should surface across assets and work categories, and deactivate codes that don’t apply to their ecosystem. With this level of configurability, teams can ensure the PE standards are applied where they matter most, effectively reducing noise and reinforcing consistency across the workforce. It is a valuable level of flexibility during the transition period that allows organizations to fine-tune their workflows and align their internal processes with the new structure.

Modernizing paper-based processes

For teams still managing ICRAs, PCRAs, ILSMs, and other safety permits on paper, TheWorxHub’s Compliance Pro feature brings these workflows into a centralized, digital process that aligns permits directly with related tasks and documentation. By housing permits alongside daily work management, Compliance Pro creates clear audit trails, standardized approvals, and reduces the risk of missed steps during high-risk tasks. This integration replaces manual, binder-based tracking, and gives greater visibility as organizations implement the new standards.
