Building Your Homebase - Wake Forest University

We've got all this stuff, but what what is it what's home based? Brightly is instrumental. Right now, we're doing asset inventory. So getting all that information into AE is very important, and not only getting the asset information, but connecting that to the the strategic piece of it. So I'm very interested right now in origin and predictor. We're in a bit of a transition at our university. We're shifting fundamentally our strategic framework on campus from residential to academic. We're in the midst of developing an asset preservation team to do those exact things and how we're gonna move that forward. It all comes down to the resources. Right? We know we have a great partner in Brightly with Asset Essentials, and that's gonna get us where we need to be from a data tracking, all those things. Everything has to be housed in one spot. Right? So, you know, we've got all these different building automation systems feeding information. We've got all this stuff, but what what is it what's home base? Right? Like, where do we always come back to? Right? So I personally look at Brightly, the AE system as home base. Right? That is where we collect everything. And if we're building out from there, then all these other tools tools that we have, there's a consistency to that. Right? So, you know, the the different, platforms that I I talk to our facilities systems guy all the time, like, I wanna do this. I've got this out here, this opportunity out here, but can Brightly do it? Can AE do that? Absolutely. Just gotta turn it on. So for me, it's always coming back to AE as home base. Right? So if I can focus on that and I can get you know, it is kind of our authoritative database is what our our group likes to call it, and then we build out from there. The more things I can use to kinda move off of that pivot point, the better off we're gonna be in the long run. If I look at that and then I look at, you know, trying to get all that information pushed up to the board or to senior leadership, making sure that connectivity between AE, which is our authoritative database, with whatever our strategic plan is, if I can get that link as strong as possible, which if I can stay in home base, that's that's really good.
